MY STORY

Hi, I'm Denisse

I was born in Cali, Colombia, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in graphic design in 2004 from the Departmental Institute of Fine Arts. From an early age, I was captivated by art, making it an essential part of both my life and career.

I have always admired artists like Chagall, Klee, Mondrian, and Picasso their use of color and geometric shapes continues to inspire my creations.

My connection to jewelry began in childhood, spending summers in my family’s jewelry workshop.

It wasn’t just any workshop it was a place close to my heart. My father and Mother were both jewelry makers, and as a teenager, I joined my father’s workshop in learning techniques, exploring materials, and discovering the beauty of jewelry.

Eventually, I became a jewelry designer for the family business and continued to grow in my craft after moving to the United States.

In 2005, I married and relocated to New York. Until 2010, I designed only for friends and clients back in Colombia.

In 2015, with a new baby at home, I decided to return fully to my passion and launched my own line Denisse Aneke Jewelry.

My work is a celebration of color, form, and texture. Inspired by the vibrant energy of my Colombian roots and the rich symbolism found in global cultures, especially native Colombian cultures, and traditions. I create jewelry that speaks through simplicity and detail.

I’m drawn to clean, organic forms that allow space for texture and color to take center stage. Each piece I design is rooted in a balance between elegance and playfulness. I use hand-woven beads to introduce intricate patterns and vibrant palettes, layering color like brushstrokes on a canvas. These beaded elements bring a tactile dimension to my work, transforming simple silhouettes into statement pieces full of life and personality.

Jewelry, to me, is both personal and expressive. an extension of who we are. Through thoughtful craft skills and intentional design

Every piece of Denisse Aneke Jewelry tells a story an anecdote of feelings and emotions captured at the time of its creation.
